Kangs Trevens, MHRS
I am an empathic counselor who began learning, teaching and living the principles of Nonviolent Communication in 2008. I mix compassion and authentic care with healing practices from various traditions. I draw on many skills I gained while working on my own personal growth. I'll support you with mindfulness-based techniques, somatic empathy, the Emotional Freedom Technique and addressing how the past is impacting present-day life. I use a Mourning, Healing and Reconciliation process to help you heal past wounds and repair disconnect within relationships. I can support you to explore unconscious traumas and how they are affecting your present life. I am available for conflict mediation, as well as guidance and support before or after a challenging conversation. I have 11 years of experience as a mental health counselor working in Residential Treatment, where I supported clients to manage mental illness and addiction.
I specialize in the Queer/LGBTIQQA community, with a focus on transgender sensitivity. I'm also passionate about providing care around diversity issues, underserved populations, politically radical folks, activists, highly sensitive people (HSPs) and vegans, as well as those with nontraditional or alternative lifestyles. I will bring presence, compassion and acceptance to our sessions.
I'm passionate about helping heal depression, anxiety, trauma, challenges with suicidal thoughts, and other emotional struggles. Please be in contact to see if I am the right healer for you and to try a free first session.
I see clients in person in Oakland, California and via phone or Skype for those outside the area. Flexible hours.
